Information on the New Teachers
Pre Nursery Class Teacher:
Sarah Gladwin
Sarah is a qualified Nursery Nurse and
Teaching assistant at Level 3, gaining a distinction certificate at
the end of the two year course. She also gained distinction in
CACHE level 2 in childcare and education. During both courses she
has worked with children aged 0-8 years. She has worked at various
Primary Schools, private nurseries, pre-nurseries. She has also
spent time working with children with special needs.
Foundation 2 Class
Teacher: Pia Toftesjo
In 2001 Pia gained a Bachelor of Education
specializing in Child and Youth Education. In December 2001 Pia
worked as a preschool teacher at the Mariebergsgatans Preschool for
one year. She then went on to teach at the Haga Preschool working
with children aged 1-6 years. She has worked as a support for
children with special needs and also taught extra classes to
children aged between 6-12 years of age at various schools including
Oscar Fredricskolan and Nordhemsskolan. She enjoys music ( can play
some guitar) drawing and travel.
Key Stage 1 (year 2):
Ursula Watson
In 1997 Ursula gained a BA(Hons) in Economics
and Literature for the University of Manchester. In 2006 she gained
her PGCE (Primary). Ursula has gained working practice in various
schools in England including Vyner Primary School, Oxton St.
Saviours Primary School, Greenfields County Primary School,
Woodlands Nursery, St. Sebastians Primary School and Seedley Primary
School. During her placements she has taught year groups 1-3 and was
graded as outstanding for her teaching practices. Ursula has been
involved in Literacy and mentoring schemes in schools for several
years and also has experience in planning and implementing
curriculum and developing monitoring assessment strategies. Her
interests include Netball and football in which she has completed
training courses in both sports.
Key Stage 2 (year 3 & 4):
Sian Ennis
Sian was born in England and
has a BA Hons in cotemporary Arts from Nottingham Trent University.
In 2006 she attended Prague Schools where she received the Trinity
TESOL certificate. Since then she has gained considerable
experience teaching English at language camps to a whole range of
Nationalities including Italian, Russian and Japanese.
She then completed a PGCE in
Primary Education through Nottingham University. She completed
placements at St. Bede's Primary School as a Year 6 student teacher
and has gained extensive experience in developing, planning and
implementing aspects of the National Literacy strategy. She also
completed her placement at Westgarth Primary School as a Year 1
student teacher. Sian has extensive knowledge of current
educational practices in the National curriculum and experience in
integrating QCA documents through theme based learning. Sian
particularly enjoys the extra curricular part of school life and has
been involved in a variety of activities including art club, dance
club and various sports club
